• If you can locate the water source causing the damage turn if off at the source if it is a leaking pipe, or cover it up if it is a hole.
• If water is pooling, turn off your electricity. This will ensure no one is electrocuted. Generators can be used to power repair equipment, lights and major appliances remaining in your home.
• Remove water soaked items as quickly as possible, separating items you know will be dried from those that won’t.
• If the water appears to come from a contaminated source remove yourself from the area to avoid sickness. If it appears clear and clean soak up as much water as you can.
